14 Years of Nurturing Creativity
Founded by Mr. Mani Subramanian and Mrs. Pushpa Subramanian on 31st August 2003, a group of like-minded art and culture enthusiasts have since established Sriguruji Art Academy as one of the finest institutions of its kind in India. Padmavibhushan Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Padmavibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia and Padmabhushan Dr. Mrs. N Rajam have been the patrons of Sriguruji right from its inception.
Today we proudly offer training in over 18 performing and fine art forms under one roof, enjoyed by over 700 students spanning ages 4 to 80 years!

The Academy is distinguished by the combination of professional training by performing artists, focus on our cultural heritage, and exploratory freedom. With a vision to foster creativity in thought and in life through art, Sriguruji Art Academy’s mission is to propel individuals to tap into their unrealized creative capacities, and use the skills they learn under our roof to lead innovative, stress-free and productive lives.
A hardcore yoga buff, this Ex-Banker, is a Faculty with the Art of Living Foundation. Along with her husband, she founded the Academy with the intention of providing an urban gurukul setup where parents can be assured of a strong cultural exposure for their children and explore arts themselves.
She epitomises grace. Decoding all Indian rituals and sharing their profoundness is her speciality. She has been a Principal at the Academy since 2006 and carries a wealth of administrative experience by having worked in the past at Nrityanjali, a performing art school and Eastern Steamships Pvt. Ltd. where she worked for 25 years.
Having dabbled in a variety of art forms from a young age including Bharatanatyam, Vocals, Kathak, Veena, Violin; she is a connoisseur of Indian art forms. She carries rich experience of over 15 years of working in various multinational firms, is a voracious reader, and a history buff!
He was the CEO of Barclays Bank, India and has been in the banking industry for over 40 years. He can whip up a delicious meal at lightning speed! He enjoys the opportunity to package Indian culture and present it in the most unique way to the masses. Be it through the Sriguruji Mela where village artisans were invited to showcase their work to an urban audience, or the MAD Fest which culminated in a carnival showcasing percussions from various parts of India.
An engineer by training, a traveller by passion, a foodie with enviable metabolism, she has a penchant for being meticulous in logistics, a skill very handy in ensuring the many students learning 18 different art forms at the Academy, give the right exams, in the right manner, at the right time!
A lover of all things fluorescent! An alumnus of Mudra Institute of Communication; she has been Content writer for Art of Living Foundation’s Youth Wing till 2014. This Bharatanatyam dancer has been associated with Sriguruji from its very inception, and actively involved from 2015.
